Physical needs: Physical needs for adolescence is important because at the ages of adolescences the young adult is going through puberty and needs to be provided with food, water, shelter ,clothing and warmth. The adolescence at this ages needs to be understood and to be loved in a caring way that the parent know what they are going through and the big changes that are going on in their lives, they need good healthy food for a good healthy diet, adolescence go through the stage of depending on junk food all the time and wanting to just to have take a way’s for their dinner which can lead to a high risk of obesity.
Safety and Security needs: Within an adolescent feeling safe and secure is very important for them to feel like they are living in a safe household and that their parents have the money to keep the house going incase they do get kicked out making sure that their family is financially secure. Adolescence being protected from harm and danger by their family but as they get older they will have to fend for themselves and protect themselves.
Social needs: as an adolescent all they want to do is go out with there friends. Maslows pyramid is tells us that at the stage of social needs in adolescent that adolescences need more than going out with their friends they need love , to be shown affection by there parent and boyfriend (if they have one) and to always be there in friendships for there friends.
Self esteem: as an adolescent self esteem is very important to them because they do want to think that they have a sense of identity and that if they do fulfil goals in life they want to be praised for them goals that are met. Adolescences tend to lack respect for their parents when going through puberty but always expect them to be getting respect to be giving to them if they do ever achieve something in life e.g. achieving a medal at sport.
Self actualisation: In childhood feeling that you have made the top of the pyramid shows you that you have fulfilled maybe everything that you wanted , not being able to do it all without the help of your parents providing you with love , shelter ,clothing , warmth and somewhere nice to live. Fulfilling all of these needs in adolescence and understanding maybe how hard it is to achieve physical needs, social needs, self esteem & safety and security needs in your everyday life.
